Senior Pastor: Mike Tyson
Just so you will know up front, no I am not the former heavyweight boxing champion of the world. My training was not in boxing but in fighting in a different kind of battle. The battle of life. I have found that there is a great coach that can help each one of us live through this life with purpose and meaning. If you are interested I'd love to introduce you to him sometime. I am a graduate of Carson Newman College (BA in Religion), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Masters of Divinity) and I am trained in Clinical Pastoral Education. I am the husband of Angie who is the greatest wife in the world and mother of our five children (Michael, David, Benjamin, Carol Ann and Jonathan). I am a grandfather of 9. I was called into ministry at the age of 18 and have served in many ministry areas over the past few decades, but most of those years have been as a lead pastor. I love the opportunity encourage others in their faith. I guess that is why my favorite Bible character is Barnabas.
Come check us out sometime soon at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.
